What this actually is
In-home skilled nursing is measured in shifts, not minutes
Most people hear “home health” and picture a nurse who stops by, checks a wound, and leaves. That is intermittent home health. It is a visit, it is scheduled in minutes, and it is the right service for a lot of patients.
It is not what medically fragile children need. Skilled pediatric nursing — private duty nursing — is continuous, one-to-one care. A licensed RN or LPN stays for the full authorized shift, watching your child, running the plan and responding to what happens.
The difference is continuity. A nurse who is there for eight hours learns your child’s baseline: what their normal breathing sounds like, which position settles them, what the first sign of trouble looks like hours before a number moves on a monitor. That familiarity is what keeps children out of the emergency department.

Every service on this page is delivered the same way. The clinical process does not change because the diagnosis does.
RN Assessment
A registered nurse visits your home and assesses your child in the place the care will happen. Not a phone script. We look at the airway, the equipment, the layout of the house, who else lives in it and what your day already looks like.

Plan of Care
We write a plan of care against your child’s physician’s orders, and the physician signs it. It states what is done on every shift, what the escalation looks like, and what counts as a change worth calling about.

A Matched Nurse
We assign nurses who are competency-verified on your child’s condition and your child’s equipment. You meet them before they work a shift. If the fit is wrong, you say so and we change it.

Ongoing Oversight
An RN supervisor owns the plan, visits the home and reviews the documentation from every shift. The plan is revised when your child changes, and a clinician is reachable at any hour.

Cost
For qualifying families, there is no out-of-pocket cost
Every service on this page is covered by Georgia Medicaid through the Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) for eligible children under 21. There is no bill to the family, no copay and no deductible for covered care.
Eligibility and authorized hours are decided by Georgia Medicaid based on medical necessity documented by your child’s physician. We do not make that decision. What we do is complete the paperwork, chase the signatures and keep the file moving — most families are approved within 30 days.
