Respiratory Care

Breathing support at home, from nurses who know how quickly a child’s airway can change.

A HomeCare Roots pediatric nurse providing respiratory care in a family home.
Covered at no out-of-pocket cost for qualifying Georgia families

What it is

Airway clearance, oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments and continuous respiratory monitoring by nurses trained in pediatric airways.

A child’s airway is smaller, softer and far less forgiving than an adult’s. What is a mild congestion in an adult can become a respiratory event in a medically fragile child within minutes. Our nurses are trained specifically in pediatric respiratory assessment, and they are watching continuously — not once a week.

We coordinate directly with your child’s pulmonologist and durable medical equipment provider so that settings, supplies and orders stay in step, and so that nothing important gets lost between three different phone systems.

Who this is for: Children with chronic lung disease, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, asthma with complex needs, neuromuscular weakness affecting breathing, or any condition requiring oxygen or airway clearance at home.
