Ventilator Management

Ventilator-dependent children belong at home with their families — with a nurse who knows the machine and the child.

A HomeCare Roots pediatric nurse providing ventilator management in a family home.
Covered at no out-of-pocket cost for qualifying Georgia families

What it is

Around-the-clock care for ventilator-dependent children by nurses competency-checked on your child’s specific equipment.

Bringing a ventilator-dependent child home is one of the hardest transitions a family will ever make. It is also, done right, one of the most transformative. Children who come home from long hospital admissions sleep better, develop faster and get sick less often than they did on the unit.

Every nurse we assign to a ventilator case is competency-verified on your child’s specific ventilator model and circuit before their first shift — not on a generic device in a classroom. We build the emergency plan with you, we practise it, and we keep it on the wall.

Who this is for: Children who are ventilator-dependent full-time or overnight, including those transitioning home from a PICU or long-term acute care hospital.
