Tracheostomy Care

A protected airway, watched by someone who knows exactly what to do — including at 3am.

A HomeCare Roots pediatric nurse providing tracheostomy care in a family home.
Covered at no out-of-pocket cost for qualifying Georgia families

What it is

Suctioning, tie and tube changes, stoma care and emergency readiness — from nurses who have done it hundreds of times.

A tracheostomy secures a child’s airway, and it also means that airway now depends entirely on the people around it. A blocked tube is an emergency measured in seconds, not minutes. Families living with a trach carry that awareness constantly.

Sharing that weight is the point of what we do. Our nurses are trained and drilled on emergency tube changes and obstruction protocols, and they keep the go-bag stocked and within reach of your child at all times.

Who this is for: Children with a tracheostomy, with or without ventilator support, including newly placed trachs transitioning home.
