HomeCare Roots is a pediatric home healthcare company in Atlanta. We provide skilled nursing to children under 21 with complex medical needs, across Georgia, at no out-of-pocket cost for families who qualify.
Our story
HomeCare Roots was founded by three people who spent their careers in service: not in healthcare boardrooms, but on the front lines of their communities, showing up for people in their hardest moments. When they came together to build this company, they brought that same conviction with them: that every family deserves to be treated like they matter, not like a case number.
We are a pediatric-only home health agency. That is not a marketing line; it is a deliberate choice. We do not split our attention between adult and pediatric care. Every nurse we place, every protocol we follow, every decision we make is built around one population: medically complex children and the families who love them.
As a licensed Georgia Pediatric Program (GAPP) provider, we work alongside hospital case managers, pediatricians, and care teams across the state to make the transition from hospital to home as seamless as possible. We know that discharge day can feel overwhelming.
What separates us is simple: you get access to ownership. There are three of us, and you will have a direct line to all three. Not a call center. Not a rotating coordinator. When something comes up, and in this field something always comes up, you reach a decision-maker every time.
We believe the right nurse changes everything. Not just a qualified nurse, the right one. Someone who is experienced, compassionate, close to home, and a genuine fit for your child and your family. Finding that person is not something we outsource or rush. It is the work we take most seriously.

To provide expert, compassionate care so children with complex medical needs can grow up safely at home, surrounded by their families. We partner with parents and physicians to build care plans that promote independence, comfort and a better quality of life.
A Georgia where no family has to choose between their child’s medical safety and their child’s childhood — and where the paperwork required to make that possible is somebody else’s job.
A diagnosis is something a child has. It is not who they are. We hire nurses who can hold both truths at once — clinical precision and ordinary warmth.
We work inside your home, on your routine, around your other children. The care plan bends to the family. The family does not bend to the care plan.
If we cannot staff your county well, we tell you before you sign anything. If your child needs a level of care we do not provide, we say so and point you somewhere better.
Funding, authorisations, renewals, supply orders, physician signatures. If it can be moved off a parent’s plate and onto ours, it should be.
A small team that knows your child beats a large team that does not. We staff for the same faces on the same shifts, and we protect that.
Complex needs do not keep office hours. A clinician picks up at 2am, and they can actually make a decision.
Our clinical standard
You are handing a stranger your child’s airway. That deserves more than a license check. This is the bar every HomeCare Roots nurse clears before their first shift, and keeps clearing after it.
Every nurse holds an active Georgia RN or LPN license, verified at hire and monitored for the life of their employment. Current BLS/CPR certification is required.
Criminal background check, employment and reference verification, exclusion-list screening and required health clearances — completed before a nurse ever meets your child.
Adult experience does not transfer automatically. Nurses are checked on pediatric assessment, airway management, dosing by weight and age-appropriate emergency response.
A nurse assigned to a ventilator or trach case is competency-verified on your child’s specific device and circuit — not a generic model from a classroom.
Care is overseen by a registered nurse who reviews the plan, visits the home and stays accountable for what happens on every shift.
Every shift is documented against the physician’s orders. Your child’s information is handled under HIPAA, and it stays inside the care team.

Our team is built around three roles, and you will know all three by name.
We keep it small on purpose, so the people caring for your child actually know your child — the same small group, never a rotating cast and never a call center reading from a script.
Where we work
Our coverage is strongest in Fulton, Cobb, Gwinnett, DeKalb, Clayton, Cherokee and the surrounding counties. If you are outside metro Atlanta, call anyway. We will tell you honestly whether we can staff your area well before you commit to anything.
